New BlackBerry phone for September?
Few companies are struggling to get their mobile phones off the ground like BlackBerry, but new leaks suggest that the Canadian manufacturer is not chucking in the towel just yet.
With a brand new chief executive at the helm, it is thought that the company is preparing to release a new 64-bit handset. This would put it toe-to-toe with the iPhone 5S and, potentially, with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5.
According to Pocket-lint, the smartphone will pack a 64-bit octa-core processor and will be released in September this year.
If the reports are true, the handset could be the saving grace that the struggling Canadian manufacturer is in desperate need of. The company has seen users of BlackBerry's latest operating system - BB10 - fall in numbers, with shares dropping by 3.3 per cent.
It's unknown whether or not BlackBerry will bring new smartphones and software to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 at the end of February.
