New app store could incentivise selling mobile phones
Many people might not currently be planning to sell mobile phones and upgrade to a different model, but they could be once they hear of a new app store.
Openspace is a new start-up venture that will bring apps to consumers not online or via their handset but from a physical store, reported All Things.
Founder Robert Reich explained the business plan behind the store, suggesting consumers want help with their mobile tools.
He noted that if a handset breaks consumers will not hesitate to take it to Apple, Verizon, AT&T or any other operator.
"But if you have a question about which camera app would be great for taking pictures this weekend on the slopes, where can you turn?" he asked.
Selling a mobile could provide the funds to invest in an app-friendly smartphone.
One app that could now be a popular choice is the BBC iPlayer tool, which is available on the latest 4G connections. Broadbandchoices.co.uk recently advised people to understand their data allowance when using it.
