Mutant-shooting console classic comes to mobile
20/03/2009
A one player first-person shooting game that made its name on a number of platforms has made its debut on mobile phones.
Pocket Gamer reports this week that BioShock definitely has its work cut out for it - having been so popular on PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
In a review for the title - conducted using the Nokia N95 Nseries handset - Keith Andrew says players may enjoy the sense of constant threat the game provides.
Set against the backdrop of a "sodden metropolis" known as Rapture, he notes this "utopia-gone-wrong" is the place where the mutant-hunting action takes place and overall, BioShock mobile "retains much of the original's mystique".
Mr Keith concludes by saying the game is a "huge and sincerely beautiful title" that should not be missed.
The long-awaited sequel BioShock 2 is heading to Microsoft Windows-enabled PCs as well as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles later this year.
