Motorola mocks Apple Maps
Controversy over the new Apple Maps app has spurred Motorola to create an advertisement mocking the tool.
The technology giant removed Google Maps from its iOS 6 operating system in favour of its own version, developed with TomTom.
However, the app has been criticised by users who say that it is plagued with problems.
The Google-owned mobile phone manufacturer has created an advert which shows how 315 East 15th street in Manhattan looks on Apple and Motorola smartphones.
The iPhone 5 handset displays a simple-looking stretch of road. In contrast, the Droid Razr M device shows a detailed satellite image of the area.
Beneath the picture of the Apple mobile phone it says '#iLost', encouraging Twitter users to ridicule the apparent inferiority of the map application.
The iPad, iPod and iPhone creator is apparently working on improving the navigation tool. The company may be concerned that it will lose customers to competitors such as Google Android or Windows Phone 8.
