Mobile users to recycle old phone for a BlackBerry on Pay & Go with O2?
Mobile users who would like to recycle their old mobiles so they can buy a smartphone maybe interested to hear customers can now get a BlackBerry on a Pay & Go tariff with O2.
Consumers have the choice of five handsets, including the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and the Bold 9700.
The smallest handset in the range, the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, is also available.
Individuals who recycle their old phone will be able to take advantage of the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) system, which will allow them to keep in touch with friends and family using emails, texts or instant messaging.
Head of consumer marketing for Telefonica O2 UK Jonathan Earle remarked: "O2's new Pay & Go tariffs for BlackBerry smartphones will bring all the benefits of BlackBerry to even more of our customers."
He explained mobile phone users will be able to keep in touch with anyone in the world using BBM if they share their PIN.
Earlier his week, O2 rival Vodafone announced it will now stock Research In motion's latest BlackBerry - the Torch.
The device uses BlackBerry 6 technology and features a qwerty keyboard along with a touch screen.
