Mobile users could switch to iPhone for Google Latitude

13/12/2010

People who sell a mobile phone and put the proceeds towards buying an Apple iPhone can now download the Google Latitude app.

Despite being announced as early as 2009, the tool has only just been made available via the manufacturer's App Store.

It combines a range of technologies to provide a service that allows people to track where their friends are via an interactive map.

Individuals can opt to allow their location to be seen by anybody they choose to enjoy the privilege, allowing family and friends to keep in touch even when they do not have a phone themselves.

However, iPhone owners will have the ability to switch off the function, preventing others from keeping up with where they are should they wish to do so.

Another new release that has been long awaited by many users of the revolutionary device is the festive version of the game Angry Birds.
