Mobile trade-ins may be popular when Apple iPhone 5 arrives
31/01/2011
The emergence of the Apple iPhone 5 later this year may signal a wave of mobile trade-ins, as people clear a space in their lives for the brand new device.
Luke Johnson, writing for news and reviews site T3, notes the latest situation at the US manufacturer is a promising one for those waiting for new launches.
He says reports suggest Apple will begin production of the fifth-generation handset in May, while it will also be manufacturing the iPad 2 in China from next month.
Indeed, Mr Johnson speculates the latter model could even be on the shelves by April, providing a hi-tech option for those looking to join the tablet revolution.
"Possibly the company's most important handset unveiling to date, the iPhone 5 will have to face ... increased competition from Android powered HTC and Samsung branded devices," he writes.
The iPhone 4 was released in the UK last June, while the original iPad was launched in April 2010.
