Mobile trade ins may be especially appealing to Surrey residents
Over the next year or two, people living in the county of Surrey might find they have more reasons than most to trade in their mobile phones.
That is because the local authority has revealed plans to ensure the area has 100 per cent coverage when it comes to super-fast broadband.
Surrey County Council said it is now inviting companies to bid for the right to install the technology across its land.
Dr Andrew Povey, leader of the council, said: "Fast and reliable internet access is vital for business and is central to our daily lives. Everyone should have access to this essential tool."
BT is planning to roll out top internet technology across most of the country – making trading in a mobile a worthwhile exercise for many – but could miss out some rural spots.
ABI Research recently released the results of a study that found the mobile broadband sector is set to grow over the next five years, largely thanks to increased take-up of tablet devices.
