Mobile Trade In Could Help Britons Find Love

British people may find that trading in their mobile phone and upgrading to a newer model that allows them frequent internet access is good for their love lives.

That is because almost one third of the country has now tried online dating, according to the results of research by Oxford University.

It conducted an international survey of 24,000 people, with 30 per cent admitting they have browsed the web on the hunt for a potential partner.

Back in 1997, this figure was just six per cent, indicating the surge in popularity enjoyed by internet dating.

Dr Bernie Hogan, research fellow at the institute, says: "Finding your partner online was once regarded as a bit of a novelty, but this survey suggests it has become a common if not dominant way of meeting new partners."

However, it may be important to have access to the net – even when on the go – in order to ensure nobody slips the net.

Three has been voted the best mobile broadband provider in the last two YouGov polls on the matter.
