Mobile trade-in can lead people to change communication methods with iPad
People who traded-in a mobile phone prior to Christmas to create a gap for a new Apple iPad found the device had a significant effect on the way they communicated with friends and family over the festive period.
New research by the network Three shows there were a number of common activities among those with the tablet in their possession.
These include using Maps and Skype – which were said to be the top apps – with many using the latter to get in touch with associates for free.
And other popular titles range from Angry Birds to Sky Sports News, eBay and Google apps.
Charlotte Blanchard, Three's director of internet services and products, says: "The iPad is an incredibly versatile device and it's clear our customers are using it to enhance their lives."
Other tablets on the market that some people may wish to switch to include the BlackBerry PlayBook and Samsung Galaxy S Tab.
