Mobile phone users offered security advice
Users of mobile phones have been warned to be aware of the information contained within their device.
Con Mallon, director of regional product marketing at Norton, explained there can often be as many details about a consumer on a phone as there is on their computer.
He suggested that his current handset arguably reveals as much about him as his laptop did just a few years ago.
The expert warned: "[People] don't see it as a computer, they still see it as a phone and [are] not really all that savvy to the climate for security."
As such, Mr Mallon is calling on Britons to realise how valuable their mobile is and the importance of keeping it safe and out of the hands of hackers.
Reuters recently reported that Neil Rimer, co-founder of Geneva-based fund Index Ventures, has predicted that mobile security will one day be a larger industry than computer protection.
