Mobile phone users 'can benefit from super-fast Virgin Media broadband'
More mobile phone users across Britain may have an extra incentive to trade-in their old device and upgrade to one of the latest models, after Virgin Media rolled out its revolutionary 100Mb broadband in 150,000 extra homes.
Residences in Cheshunt, Pentwyn, Southport, Treforest and Hatfield join more than 200,000 other abodes that already have access to the service.
It means broadband consumers can download a music album in as little as five seconds, a film in 90 seconds and a television programme in less than half a minute.
But the benefits of adopting the internet are only likely to be fully realised when several people in the home are enjoying the broadband – including those using mobile phones, says the provider.
Jon James, executive director of broadband at Virgin Media, says: "We're racing to get these ultrafast speeds across this entire area as fast as we can to meet demand."
Those searching for a network on which to buy a new mobile may wish to consider Three, which has been voted the best supplier of mobile broadband by the last two YouGov polls on the subject.
