Manchester event may persuade people to trade-in mobile
03/09/2010
Britons could be inspired to trade-in an old mobile if they attended an event at Manchester's Trafford Centre yesterday (September 2nd).
Three visited the shopping complex with its Mobile Broadband Bus to highlight the advantages of owning a mobile phone with internet access.
Manchester, despite being one of the UK's biggest web-browsing cities, still has almost a quarter of its population without a broadband internet connection.
On hand was Pollyanna Woodward, star of The Gadget Show on Channel Five, who explained the benefits of staying in touch via a mobile device.
"Three's network investment in Manchester gives locals better coverage and a better experience," she said.
People in the north-west city may be among the greatest beneficiaries when trading-in a used phone and upgrading to a latest model, as Three has recently completed a £3.5 million project to improve connection speeds and 3G coverage.
The firm recently took its roadshow to the cities of Leeds and Glasgow.
