LG's quad-core smartphone makes debut in Barcelona
LG has unveiled its first quad-core processor powered smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The LG Optimus 2X HD is a combination of NVIDIA's latest 1.5 GHz Tegra 3 with True HD IPS display, which delivers PC-like performance in the palm of your hand, according to the firm.
Its new arrival will include 16 GB of internal memory and runs on the latest Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
President and chief executive officer of LG Mobile Communications Company Dr Jong-seok Park said LG introduced the world's first dual-core mobile phone a year ago and this is the next milestone.
"But speed in itself isn't what makes LG Optimus 4X HD unique, it's the benefit we're bringing to customers with the HD multimedia experience in a mobile form factor," he continued.
The firm also launched its new Optimus Vu: which has been created with advanced LTE and IPS display technology to offer a combination of tablet-like viewing with smartphone portability.
