LG To Bring Knock Tech To All Its Smartphones

LG will enable all of its mobile phone users to benefit from its Knock technology, which has previously been exclusive to a few devices.

The feature allows the screen to be controlled from a number of taps and will be rolled out to all of the firm's L Series II handsets. For the future, LG will include the system in all of its devices as standard.

The LG G2 was the first smartphone to feature the Knock tech, as it nicely suited the device's rear-facing power button. However, it has since been placed on the LG G Flex, as well as the company's LG G Pad 8.3 tablet.

"No one ever thought that a power button needed to be improved until our engineers wondered why they couldn't turn the entire screen into a power button, " said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and chief executive, LG Mobile.

A software update will bring all LG smartphones up-to-date and able to use the Knock feature.
