LG Optimus L-Series celebrates 10m sales
LG is celebrating after selling more than ten million Optimus L-Series handsets around the world - a range which includes L3, L5, L7 and L9 mobile phones.
The Korean manufacturer describes this achievement as "modest", perhaps as the market leaders have recorded much larger figures.
More than 30 million Samsung Galaxy S3 units have been sold, and over five million iPhone 5 handsets were bought in the opening weekend.
LG prides itself on the stylish and original design of its L-Series handsets, which have increasingly large displays from 3.2 to 4.7 inches.
Chief executive of LG Mobile Dr Jong-seok Park said: "Our strategy is to develop mobile products for all types of customers according to their individual needs and lifestyles."
All of the devices utilise the Android operating system, which gives owners access to over 700,000 apps through Google Play.
LG has a close partnership with the search engine company, as it created the latest Nexus 4 handset, which has experienced unanticipated demand.
