Is it worth trading-in a mobile for BlackBerry PlayBook?
28/09/2010
BlackBerry has launched its new tablet device, the PlayBook, which could tempt some consumers into trading-in their current mobile phone.
The technology provider says its latest handset is attractive, stylish and ultra-thin for added convenience, meaning users will "want to take [it] everywhere".
It features a seven-inch state-of-the-art touchscreen and runs on the BlackBerry's unique operating system.
Other specifications include the provision of a Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth, audio and video players and dual high-definition cameras, one of three megapixels and the other of five.
"Research In Motion (RIM) set out to engineer the best professional-grade tablet in the industry with cutting-edge hardware features and one of the world's most robust and flexible operating systems," says Mike Lazaridis, president and co-chief executive at RIM.
BlackBerry has recently rolled out its Curve 3G model in a host of new countries, such as Hong Kong and Thailand, which may lead to people around the world trading-in a mobile in favour of one of the manufacturer's devices.
