iPhone 4 'already popular with mobile phone users'
Research by a website suggests mobile phone fans are rushing to secure the new iPhone 4, which was released in the UK yesterday (June 24th).
V3.co.uk visited a series of central London retailers just hours after the device hit the shelves and found the majority of stores had sold out.
Among those to have run out of stock shortly after the release time were Orange, Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.
Indeed, the only outlet with a supply remaining was O2, where a healthy crowd of people had gathered to queue in the hope of buying one, the website notes.
Some consumers may find the most cost-effective way of investing in the iPhone 4, which can cost up to £429 just to purchase a handset, is to recycle their used handsets for cash and put it towards the revolutionary model.
Apple, manufacturer of the iPhone, are also currently enjoying success with the iPad, of which more than three million units have been sold in 80 days since it was released.
