Idea of 'selling my mobile' may appeal to Britons as smartphones surge
Britons could increasingly opt to sell mobile phones and upgrade to newer devices in 2012, if the latest findings by one body are anything to go by.
YouGov has published a number of predictions for the next year, suggesting the rise of smartphones is sure to continue.
At the moment, 40 per cent of the UK population owns a smartphone, but this figure is due to rise to 68 per cent within the next upgrade cycle, the body noted.
This could mean a large number of handsets are deemed surplus to requirements and sold via recycling websites, such as Mazuma.
YouGov also warned mobile marketers they need to up their game in order to provide consumers with rich and interest content.
One brand that is set to be popular with mobile users in 2012 is Nokia, with Juniper Research recently predicting the Finnish company will enjoy a boom in demand over the next 12 months.
