Huawei Has No Plans To Buy Nokia

Huawei's vice president of external affairs Bill Plummer has told Reuters that it has "no plans to acquire" the Finnish mobile phone company Nokia.

However, this doesn't mean that it isn't open or considering it as a path to pursue in the future, just not right now.

It has been rumoured that the stockholders of Nokia have been encouraging the company to look at other avenues, rather than its dedication to releasing numerous Windows Phone 8 devices.

The firm has been struggling to keep up with Android and iOS, which currently dominate the smartphone market, despite the success of some of its flagship phones like the Lumia 920.

Huawei, on the other hand, have a strong third position behind its two rivals and is open to the idea of branching out with Nokia, according to the Financial Times. The Chinese manufacturer could possibly gain pace on Samsung and Apple if it partnered with Nokia.

Despite the potential benefits for both companies, Huawei wants to make it clear that it has no plans to buy out the Finnish firm.
