Huawei Ascend D2 confirmed for CES 2013 showcase
Huawei chief executive Yu Chengdong confirmed that the flagship Ascend D2 mobile phone will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013.
He claimed on his Weibo microblogging page that the device will have a five-inch 1080p screen, putting it on a par with the HTC Butterfly.
More consumers are opting for handsets with larger displays, as advancements to the quality means that people increasingly use them to watch movies and television shows.
Apps like BBC iPlayer make this exceptionally easy, and those on a high-speed 4G connection can stream the videos on-the-go quicker than ever.
Gaming is also extremely popular among smartphone users, and a larger touch-screen will generally mean it is easier to play.
The Chinese manufacturer will also unveil its low-end Ascend W1 Windows Phone 8 mobile phone at the electronics event, which takes place between January 8th and 11th.
Samsung's Ativ S device will also run the latest Microsoft operating system, and it should go on sale early next year.
