HTC Wildfire helps mobile phone customers stay in touch
HTC has launched a new Android mobile phone which helps users to stay in touch with friends and family and will be available to buy in the third quarter of 2010.
The HTC Wildfire builds on the success of the HTC Sense-based Android models, which have proved popular in recent months.
Mobile phone customers can now receive all their friends' and family's Facebook status updates and Twitter feeds in one stream direct to their handset.
Making people central is the idea behind the new Wildfire model, which HTC hopes will make its brand of mobile phones more accessible to a younger generation hungry for social media.
The new device also lets users access and view images on Flickr.
Florian Seiche, vice-president of HTC Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "HTC Wildfire brings all your communications to one place, ensuring you are never far away from the conversation and always close to your friends."
In February HTC announced it would join forces with Telefonica to enable distribution of Wildfire's predecessor, the HTC Smart, which it claimed was affordable and easy-to-use.
