HTC Hero Becomes Third UK Android Phone

Shoppers looking for the latest phones with the Google operating system (OS) have been given another choice to consider this week.

Orange has announced it will be the third network in the UK to support an Android device in the form of the HTC Hero - which it will make available during the early part of next month.

For £39.15 per month, those recycling mobile phones can expect to receive unlimited web and text use, 1,200 inclusive any network minutes and a free handset.

Other models that come with the Google OS onboard include the HTC Magic - which was recently launched exclusively on Vodafone - and the T Mobile G1, although all of these devices are built by the same company.

Francois Mahieu, director of devices at the network, said: "We believe the Hero is a great all round device which will allow consumers to get to grips with all the things they love about the internet, whilst on the move."
