HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 WP8 mobile phones on sale now
Mobile phones powered by new Microsoft Windows Phone 8 (WP8) software have gone on sale in the UK.
Consumers can now get their hands on much-anticipated HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 handsets online and in-store.
The lower-end HTC 8S and Nokia Lumia 820 handsets will go on sale later this month.
The Finnish manufacturer's offering is exclusively available through EE, and buyers could take advantage of the telecommunications company's new high-speed 4G network, thanks to the inclusion of Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.
Nokia will be hoping that its PureView camera technology helps to attract customers, as the firm has been struggling to compete with market leaders Apple and Samsung.
The flagship Windows Phone 8X is available through all of the major British networks, like O2 and Vodafone.
At 4.3 inches, the screen is smaller than most high-end mobile phones. However, the Taiwanese firm claims it is "the most comfortable phone you’ll ever hold".
Both smartphones are available in a range of colours, to complement the vibrancy of the Microsoft operating system.
