Have 1m LG Nexus 4 mobile phones shipped?
Despite problems with stock shortages, it seems that Google and LG have managed to ship one million Nexus 4 mobile phones.
A member of the XDA Developers Forum believes that the serial number on a device sold in Turkey indicates the manufacturer has reached this impressive milestone.
The handset went on sale on November 13th 2012, but stock shortages have plagued the smartphone ever since.
Aspirant owners trying to purchase a SIM-free Nexus 4 on the UK Google Play website are still confronted with a 'ships soon' notification at the time of writing (February 8th).
An attractive price tag is likely to have been a significant factor in its popularity - at just £279 with 16 GB of storage, it is £250 cheaper than the iPhone 5 equivalent.
Although Apple's handset does boast some more impressive specifications, the Nexus 4 still offers owners high-end performance.
It sports the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system, a powerful quad-core processor, an eight-megapixel camera and a 4.7-inch high-resolution touchscreen.
