Google Play Launches Magazines For Android Mobile Phone Owners

Google Play has launched its Magazine service for Android mobile phone owners in the UK, and the associated app is available to download for free.

A number of Brits will be unwrapping handsets like the Nexus 4 and Samsung Galaxy S3 on Christmas morning, and these lucky recipients will be able to read the festive edition of their favourite publication on the day too.

Popular magazines like Vogue, GQ, Hello! and Cosmopolitan will be available through Google Magazines - the prices vary, but many offer free 30-day trials.

So far, more than five million Android device users have installed the tool, and the majority have given the app a five-star rating.

Apple iPhone owners who would like to read a digital version of their favourite mag on-the-go can utilise Newsstand.

Through this pre-installed app, users can build up libraries of a daily newspaper, or download old copies of publications like The Economist and National Geographic.
