Google MD Says Nexus 4 Stock Issues Are Unacceptable

Managing director for Google UK and Ireland Dan Cobley has apologised for stock issues associated with the company's new Nexus 4 mobile phone.

After customers complained about shortages on his Google+ profile, he admitted that the problems being experienced are "unacceptable".

Google Play's handset inventory depleted within hours of its release on November 13th, and both 8 GB and 16 GB models are currently sold out on the UK website.

An attractive price tag for the SIM-free versions meant that more consumers turned to the Android creator rather than telecommunications networks when making a purchase.

Many customers who managed to place an order may not receive their parcel in time for Christmas, as may have been anticipated.

Mr Cobley claims that "supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic", thus indicating that LG is responsible for the problems.

Head of mobile at the company Andy Coughlin admitted in an interview with CNET UK that the high demand was unanticipated.
