Google Earth Now Available On Android Handsets

Google Earth is now available on all handsets using the Android 2.1 operating system (OS) or higher.

The search engine has recently launched its own mobile phone - the Nexus One - and consumers could be tempted to take full advantage of Google Earth by selling an old mobile phone for cash to put towards the handset.

Google launched the product using the device and its 1-GHz Snapdragon processor may ensure that those using the programme do so efficiently.

A crystal-clear image could also be provided as the phone features a 800-by-480-high-resolution screen. Users can even speak into their phone to find the information that they require thanks to its voice activation feature.

Sales of mobiles fell almost 1 per cent to 1.2 billion in the last year in comparison to 2008, according to Gartner, although the market returned to growth in last quarter.

Google Android's market share was found to have increased from 0.5 per cent to 3.9 per cent.
