Glastonbury Crowd Can Recharge Mobile Phone With Wellies

Eco-friendly festival attendees could be interested in a pair of Wellies that collect power and use it to recharge mobile phones.

Indeed, some music fans heading to Glastonbury or Reading this summer may wish to recycle an old handset with Mazuma and put the cash towards a new device and some boots.

Orange has released the footwear, designed to cope with the demands of a muddy festival, after teaming up with producer GotWind.

The firm's managing director Dave Pain said: "Wellies are now the staple festival footwear [and] the Orange Power Wellies not only keep you dry but they also provide a crucial eco electricity source."

Heat from the wearer's feet is stored throughout the day and can be used each night to charge a battery by simply plugging a device into the top of the boots.

However, those heading to Glastonbury have less than three weeks to recycle their mobile and splash out on the Wellies, with the event due to begin on June 23rd.
