Galaxy Nexus Addition To Three Portfolio Could Spark Mobile Trade Ins

A significant number of consumers might choose to trade in their mobile phones over the coming weeks in order to snap up the Galaxy Nexus, which is being added to Three's offering.

The network has confirmed it is adding the model – which combines software from Google with hardware from Samsung – to its portfolio.

Google's contribution comes in the form of the new Android 4.0 operating system, also known as Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

It means customers in search of an upgrade will from now be able to consider it as an option.

The Galaxy Nexus boasts a 4.65-inch high-definition screen, gaming technology, a video recorder and excellent picture quality.

"At Three we love firsts, so we're excited to be bringing our customers the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone," stated Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at the company.

Ice Cream Sandwich has been launched soon after rival Apple released its brand new operating system, iOS 5.
