Finding Right Mobile Phone Could Be Key To Music Downloads

Trading-in a mobile phone and switching to a model on a more favourable payment plan may be the key to enjoying regular music downloads.

Tim Green, executive editor of Mobile Entertainment, explains data charges are arguably the major reason the process is not more widespread.

He suggests all-you-can-eat internet packages have helped some users get around this problem, but many remain constrained by the amount of megabytes they can consume.

The expert notes the emergence of the Apple iPhone is a crucial factor in progress in music downloading.

"If you can only own an iPhone with an iTunes account, why would you then not use iTunes to transfer your music? That's bolstered that way of doing things," Mr Green states.

Nokia recently announced it is to scrap its free music downloads service – Ovi Music Unlimited – in a total of 27 countries, including the UK, possibly due to a reduced take-up of its files.
