Facebook Improves Mobile Advertising Platform

Social networking website is continuing to overhaul its smartphone offering and has announced an update to its mobile advertising software.

As more people adopt cutting-edge mobile technology, the benefits of creating dedicated mobile software platforms - like that offered by Facebook - have become increasingly apparent.

The move is expected to bolster the social networking specialist's share price, which took a hit after the company's official floatation.

Part of the change will allow companies to deliver bespoke social advertisements to mobile phone users, making the Facebook experience much more fluid and engaging.

Nokia has been banking on social networking to boost the sales of its latest mobile phones.

The company's 111 and 113 budget phones come with Facebook and Twitter apps pre-loaded.

The firm is also pushing ahead with its innovative Nokia Browser, which compresses all web data before it reaches the end-users handset. This can cut a person's data usage by as much as 90 per cent.
