Consumers may be excited to trade in mobile for tablet

Britons thinking of trading in their mobile phones may like to switch them for tablet devices, following the words of one celebrity.

Television presenter Suzi Perry, speaking at the Ideal Home Show, said models such as the Apple iPad are ideal for everybody as they offer so much.

She suggested such models are "here to stay" and will play an increasingly significant role in everyday life.

"I think apps are the best thing that has happened [recently], they give you carte blanche and there literally is an app for everything, across all platforms," Ms Perry added.

Of course, it is still important to choose a tablet that works well and offers everything that is required, as she noted not all products are as much of a success as the iPad.

The Ideal Home Show is the world's largest consumer exhibition and is currently taking place at London's Earls Court until March 27th.
