Consumers Could Choose Mobile Recycling To Use Buzz

Consumers could wish to upgrade to a new smartphone in order to access sites such as Facebook and Google's Buzz, if recent research is anything to go by.

Google revealed that Buzz will integrate directly with Google's email service - Gmail - and allow users to comment on other users' posts and share content including photos, videos, posts and links.

Jason Fells, a social media consultant and founder of Social Media Explorer, said: "Facebook is the bar you stop at on the way home. You like both, they're both important to you for different reasons, but you don't have to give one up for the other."

He added that Buzz is a way of bringing socialisation to Gmail rather than a social networking site and at present the service and Facebook are very different.

Facebook states that its site has more than 400 million registered users, 50 per cent of whom log into their accounts on a daily basis and more than three billion photos are posted on to it every month.
