Chrome now available for Android
People looking to get their hands on a new mobile phone might want to recycle their old handset in favour of one of the newest Android-powered handsets as they are to be fitted with Google Chrome.
This caps a year-long engineering effort at Google and will now see a convergence between two of the company's fastest-growing products.
Google's senior vice president for Chrome applications Sundar Pichai said the world is going mobile at a fast rate but the firm believes that it is still in its infancy and will develop further.
"Our goal was to build a mobile browser from the ground up that provides the same fast, simple experience people have come to expect from surfing the web on their desktop," Mr Pichai was reported as saying.
At the end of last month Sky announced that its popular Sky Go service would be hitting Android phones in the coming weeks.
