Business Users Could Trade In Mobiles And Follow Sky To O2

Businesses that need to provide communications equipment for staff may want to trade in mobiles in order to get a better deal.

One of the options available is to follow British Sky Broadcasting's lead and move to O2. The carrier recently announced it has secured a two-year contract for the provision of more than 10,000 conections for the company's employees.

Apple iPhones, iPads, BlackBerrys and other mobile devices form part of the communications deal, which was awarded to O2 because of "strong levels of netword coverage" and a "commitment to provide the highest quality of service", the company said.

Of course, O2 is not the only corporate provider; it emerged in recent weeks that Orange is offering small and medium-sized organisations 1GB of mobile data for only £1.

Trading in mobiles is often a good move for businesses concerned about their ecological footprint, as the safe reuse or disposal of handsets ensures their parts do not damage the environment.
