Britons who sell mobiles must weigh up contract versus pay-as-you-go issue
Selling a mobile phone can open up a consumer's options, as he or she is faced with the prospect of choosing a replacement device from a vast market.
However, it can also be a difficult time, as everybody naturally wants to feel as though they have attained the best deal for them.
Tom Rainsford, head of brand and proposition at giffgaff, told how this is becoming even more difficult as there is now little to choose between deals available on a pay-as-you-go or contract basis.
He said the gap is now "much closer" than it has been for some time, particularly three, four and five years ago.
"There's a lot of value in the market if it is a pay as you go deal you're looking for," Mr Rainsford stated, adding that all of the top operators can provide incentives to sign up.
The Boy Genius Report this week noted one reason to choose an Android-powered phone as a new mobile – it now boasts a choice of 500,000 apps.
