BlackBerry Phones Could Tempt People To Trade In Mobiles

The lure of a BlackBerry may eventually prove so strong that consumers find they have to trade in mobile phones in order to upgrade to one of the brand's handsets.

Such a prospect is raised after Research in Motion (RIM) – which manufactures all of BlackBerry's models – added another design to its portfolio.

It has released the BlackBerry Torch 9860, at this time in the United Arab Emirates.

Such a launch could be seen by many as further evidence of the company's commitment to regular releases and new technology.

The mobile is optimised for internet use and features a smart design and a display screen described by RIM as "spectacular".

Farid Faraidoono, chief ecommercial officer of du, which has released the phone in conjunction with RIM, said: "The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is an exquisite example of RIM’s innovation and it is now available through our du shops, through our e-shop on our website and through our authorised dealers."

T-Mobile recently announced it is adding several mobiles to its offering for businesses, including two BlackBerry models – the 9300 and 9780.
