BlackBerry May Have Turned Down Apple Bid

There have been many rumours concerning BlackBerry and the various offers to save the mobile phone company.

However, for the first time we are hearing Apple's name in these rumours as it appears that BlackBerry refused a bid from the rival company.

This is according to Reuters, which reported the Canadian manufacturer thought that selling parts of its company would only be detrimental to its customers and shareholders.

Apple, along with Microsoft, were reportedly interested in buying the numerous patents that BlackBerry has. However, it appears that the company refused this offer as it didn't want its property to fall into enemy hands.
This is just the latest claim concerning the various companies who were thought to be interested in the dwindling Canadian firm. However, BlackBerry's future looks even more doubtful as the company announced that it was no longer interested in buyout offers last week.

It managed to secure $1 billion (£625 million) from Fairfax Financial to fund its company, though it is unclear what the manufacturer plans to do with the money.
