BlackBerry launches Kopi as budget device
It's been difficult not to notice that BlackBerry is going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment, but the mobile phone company has decided to launch a new budget-friendly handset.
Images of the BlackBerry Kopi have leaked online, as well as some details concerning what the low-end device could bring to the market. BGR got its hands on the information from a "close source" and reported that it will be placed below the BlackBerry Q5 which was launched in May this year (2013).
According to the website, the BlackBerry Kopi will carry a faster processor than the Q5 and come with a removable battery pack but won't have its 4G support. Images also indicate that the handset will be running the company's latest BlackBerry 10 operating system.
In appearance though, the BlackBerry Kopi, looks a lot like the Q5 with its thick plastic case and QWERTY keyboard.
The report didn't indicate any details of the device release date or the price, though with the specifications, it's a safe bet that the handset is a budget-friendly, low-end offering.
