BlackBerry Bold 9700 Announced

Selling used mobiles could be an option for those tempted to fund the new BlackBerry Bold 9700.

Research In Motion (RIM) announced this week that the follow up to the 9000 version of the device would be available soon and took the opportunity to detail some of the features buyers could expect.

Following on from the announcement that the firm would launch a sequel to the BlackBerry Storm, it was advised that the Bold 9700 would come equipped with 3G HSDPA support and a 624 MHz internal processor.

In addition, the firm has included 256 MB of internal Flash memory with the device which is expandable via a microSD card, while a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS and Wi-Fi are also built-in.

Mike Lazaridis, RIM's president and co-chief executive officer, said the device offer "new, state-of-the-art features and a smaller, lighter and highly optimised design".

Vodafone has since announced that it will support the smartphone when it hits stores.
