BlackBerry aborts two BB10 phones
It seems as though things are turning from bad to worse for BlackBerry as the firm has announced that it has cancelled two BB10 mobile phones.
Earlier this week, the Canadian manufacturer revealed that it had lost billions of dollars this year from its business, which may have been the motive behind the sudden change of heart.
The company recently promised at least five years of devices, but it seems as though this won't be happening now.
BlackBerry wrote that it had "made the decision to cancel plans to launch two devices to mitigate the identified inventory risk."
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) picked the information from the company's earnings report that was released last week.
However, it may not be that significant a loss to the UK as it is unlikely that we would have seen the devices anyway. The handsets were expected to be low-end phones aimed at emerging markets.
BlackBerry's aborted handsets were codenamed Café and Kopi, according to unknown sources used by the WSJ.
