Apple's US patent victory could 'limit' Android's reach
Google has claimed that the ruling in the Apple-Samsung patent trial could "limit" consumers' access to its own Android devices.
A US jury found Samsung guilty of infringing on design patents and ordered it to pay Apple $1.05 billion (£664 million), however, the South Korean company has vowed to appeal the decision.
This has led to speculation that the ruling could encourage handset makers to install the rival Windows Phone operating system.
Google released a statement on Sunday (August 26th) about the court's findings and said that the court of appeals will review the infringement and validity of the patent claims.
It also assured fans of the operating system that most of the rulings don't relate to the core Android operating system.
"We continue to work with our partners to give consumers innovative and affordable products and we don't want anything to limit that. The mobile industry is moving fast," the statement read.
