Apples Earnings Powered By IPhone

Apple's latest financial report indicates that mobile phones are acting as the firm's fiscal backbone.

The document details the company's revenue and indicates that the company is supported by the sale of one high-end product - the iPhone.

Apple has seen this sort of trend before, as it used to be the purchases of the iPod that kept it afloat.

Although the company is still an undeniable success, there has been a significant shift that has also seen it replaced as the dominant smartphone manufacturer.

The good news is iPhone sales are on the increase, but decreased prices have reduced its overall profit from 42.8 per cent to 36.98 per cent. Unsurprisingly, the company's latest flagship, the iPhone 5, is its best-selling device.

However, we know the American manufacturer has more products waiting in the wings. The affordable iPhone and iOS 7 are just two items the company has yet to release and it'll be interesting to see whether this is enough to shift Apple's place in the smartphone market again.
