Apple Wants Your Body For IDevices

A new patent filing has indicated that Apple has plans for innovative security measures that will expand on the Touch ID feature currently found in its iPhone 5S mobile phone

It suggests that the American manufacturer might one day use biometric data to connect devices.

The patent, spotted by Apple Insider, was first filed on August 31st 2012 but was only published by the US Patent and Trademark Office recently. Since the first application, Apple has made headway by putting the fingerprint sensor in its current flagship.

It describes a system that uses biometric data to bring devices together and allows them to communicate with each other. This would then allow data to transfer between them and use this shared biometric data, which would make it more secure, according to the patent.

Apple lists examples of biometric data such as fingerprint sensors, facial recognition, retina scanning and voice recognition.
