Apple want Facebook Home
Mobile phone company Apple is reportedly in talks with the social media juggernaut to create a version of Facebook Home for the iPhone.
Facebook Home was only introduced last week in the UK, but it seems Apple is already jumping on the bandwagon to make sure its customers don't miss out on the hype for long.
The feature embeds itself between the operating system and applications on a phone to give users the ability to access the social media site from their homepage, as well as allowing them to make free phone calls and instant messaging.
Although Mark Zuckerberg didn't need Google's permission to design Facebook Home for Android phones, restrictions on the iPhone operating system are much stricter, so it is thought he would need Apple on-board to market anything for its devices.
Facebook's director of product, Adam Mosseri, has now claimed that the two companies are in talks about devising a similar feature for iPhones.
He said that the Home software would be tailored to how Apple works and could look very different from the Android version.
Facebook founder Zuckerberg has said the social network and Apple have a “great relationship”, but nothing has been confirmed in terms of future products.
