Apple To Slim Down IPhone 6 For June Launch?

We've heard reports earlier this week that Apple is planning to remove the bezels from its mobile phones, in order to make them thinner and with bigger screens. However, new rumours suggest that the company could take further measures to slim down the iPhone 6.

According to LEDinside, which spoke to sources inside the Apple Supply Chain, the Cupertino manufacturer is going to make its next flagship much thinner than the iPhone 5S. It's also likely that it will not be any heavier than the current leading handset, despite having a larger screen.

The sources claimed that Apple would accomplish this by changing the LEDs used in the smartphones. It is thought that the iPhone 6 would feature a '0.4t side-view type' LED backlight, rather than the '0.6t side-view type' LED, making it 2mm thinner.

LEDinside's tipster also said that Apple is preparing to bring the iPhone 6 to release in June. Although this date has been cited in previous reports, many are sceptical because of the company's habit of releasing flagships in September.
