Apple To Offer Refunds For Failed 4G Connectivity

Technology giant Apple has offered to refund customers who aren't able to fully experience the 4G capabilities of the new iPad.

This comes after many Australian observers noted they couldn't connect to the 4G network as had been promised in Apple's specification.

Australia's consumer watchdog has now taken Apple to court for false advertising as the device cannot connect in the country.

Despite this spate of returns and refunds, the firm is unlikely to be deterred by the reception the iPad has received down under, as it managed to sell over three million devices in its first week alone.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said it is seeking an injunction on sales as well as financial penalties placed on Apple, to go with the refunds for consumers.

Apple's lawyer Paul Anastassiou argued the firm never claimed the device would work fully on the current 4G network operated in the country by Telstra.
