Apple To Bring Liquidmetal IPhone 6?

Mobile phone manufacturer Apple signed an agreement with Liquidmetal Technologies back in 2010 but users have seen nothing from the partnership, aside from the SIM card eject tool in the iPhone 3G.

However, brand new patent applications could spark rumours that the duo are planning something brilliant once more.

Some 17 patent applications have been published concerning Liquidmetal alloys but none of these have been directly linked with the Cupertino company. However, the inventor names listed in the documents are Apple employees who have been known to dabble in Liquidmetal alloys before.

Liquidmetal alloys would mean much stronger and tougher handsets from Apple and would bulk up the notoriously bad home buttons on iPhones. It is also thought that it would improve the accuracy of touch sensors in the company's handsets.
Among the array of patent applications was one that granted Apple the rights for a flexible wraparound display, made using a powder Liquidmetal process.
