Apple-Samsung phone ban hearing date set
Apple's legal motion to have a number of Samsung's mobile phones banned in the US will be heard in court in December.
A jury found Samsung guilty of infringing a number of design patents of Apple's on Friday (August 24th) and ordered the South Korean firm to pay more than $1 billion (£664 million) in damages.
Judge Lucy Koh had originally suggested that Apple's request would be heard next month but it has now been confirmed that it will take place on December 6th.
Shares in Samsung subsequently rose three per cent on Tuesday (August 28th) following news of the delay of the hearing.
This followed a total of $12 billion wiped off its market value on Monday as its shares suffered its biggest drop since October 2008.
In total, Apple hopes to have eight of Samsung's smartphones banned in the US
Including the Galaxy S2 AT&T model, Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, Galaxy S2 T-Mobile model and Galaxy S2 Epic 4G.
